Projection:

The fine arts department wanted a projection solution that would be capable of providing digital scenery for their musicals and other productions. The projector needed to be rather close to the screen and had to punch through the stage lighting. We provided 4 HDMI/VGA inputs and digitally routed everything to the preview monitors and the projector. 

Lighting:

The architectural lighting system was outdated and lacked some modern conventions for automatic timers and controls. We added a CueServer controller to handle the house lights and work lights. The CueServer allowed us to create a number of house and stage lighting presets so that users could easily access the lighting profile for their needs. User defined presets allows faculty and staff to record their own presets. All of this was able to be accomplished without needing to turn on the lighting console or have an operator present.

Control:

For control we specified the QSC Q-Sys platform. All video signal routing and projector controls are accessible through a user friendly touch screen interface. Furthermore, we integrated the audio system so that a few channels of wireless mics, all 4 video inputs, and 2 auxiliary inputs could be controlled via the touch screen rather than the main mixing console, mitigating the need for additional faculty/staff to be present for small speaking events and presentations. For the lighting module, The touch screen interface made it easy for teachers and lecturers to control the house lights for study hall, classes, and presentations. If they forgot to turn the lights off at the end of their session, an automatic timer turned them off saving electricity and prolonging lamp life of the conventional lighting fixtures.
